Our Mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.

La Leche League International, including La Leche League of Lakewood, is committed to serving everyone inclusive of race, ethnicity, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, physical or mental ability, socio-economic status, political views, gender identity, sexual orientation, family structure, or other protected status. 

Breastfeeding Meetings:

Our free of charge, non-denominational, meetings are a place to discuss all breastfeeding related concerns and questions in a supportive and educational environment.  In person meetings are open to all moms, expecting moms, grandmothers, children,  etc.  

Meeting Schedule: 

  • IN PERSON – First Friday of the month, 10 AM, Belmar Library in Lakewood   

* Meeting details are emailed out 2-5 days prior to each meeting.  If you’re new to the group and need to join our email list, please contact us at llloflakewood@gmail.com and ask to be added. 

** We are also available via phone, email, or private video chat if you are unable to attend a meeting, or need support sooner than the next available meeting.

La Leche League Leaders
Accredited by La Leche League International, volunteer Leaders are experienced breastfeeding mothers who are familiar with research and current findings dealing with all aspects of nursing.  La Leche League Leaders offer free of charge, practical information, and support to nursing mothers through telephone or email help, monthly meetings, and in person visits.  We also have a library of books on childbirth, breastfeeding, sleep, and related parenting topics that are available to borrow for a one month period.
